Op 27 april 2018 werd de Slag om de Kemmelberg herdacht met een plechtigheid aan de Franse militaire begraafplaats, beter gekend als 'l'Ossuaire' waar meer dan 5000 Franse gesneuvelden rusten. Voor deze 'Centenaire' werd speciaal de vlam van de Arc de Triomphe ( Parijs) naar Kemmel overgebracht. Via het 'Monument aux Soldats Français' in de volksmond 'Den Engel' werd de vlam in de ossuarium gebracht.
