In the beginning of the episode, a small storm cloud gets separated from his parents while SpongeBob is watching Gale Doppler announce the weather. He sees that it is raining outside and asks himself why it is raining if Gale Doppler said it would be sunny skies. The rain turns out to be from the baby storm cloud, so SpongeBob decides to take him under his wing. He names the cloud Drizzle and the two start doing many activities together. One day, he ties Drizzle onto a fence and tells him he cannot go inside the house until he is housebroken, due to Gary not being fond of him. While he brings him his food, the cloud escapes and starts causing havoc on Bikini Bottom. Gale Doppler notices this and tries to suck up Drizzle so his prediction about the weather can stay true. SpongeBob goes looking for Drizzle and eventually finds him. He thanks Gale Doppler for finding him, but he says he needs to suck up the cloud, as it is a danger to the public, so the two use reef blowers to get Drizzle. SpongeBob has a kid handle the reef blower, allowing him to grab the cloud. While he is escaping, Drizzle gets pulled in by Gale Doppler using a large reef blower attached to a construction machine. He begs him to let go of Drizzle, while crying out tears that make Drizzle bigger. The skies turn gray and Drizzle goes inside Gale Doppler's body, turning him into a storm cloud. He likes this as first, but realizes the damages caused to him and wants to go back to normal. He eventually hits the parent clouds of Drizzle, who make him come out of Gale. He asks about the clouds, but they blow him into the dehumidifier he was going to use on Drizzle and explodes. The cloud family leaves, but Drizzle gives off a smaller cloud for SpongeBob to keep, as the episode ends. The title card background for this episode is similar to that of "The Ballad of Filthy Muck." SpongeBob's pink shower cap from "Cave Dwelling Sponge" returns in this episode. This is the only appearance of Jellyfish Fields in season 12. This is the only season 12 episode to feature Patrick's house and Squidward's house, without Patrick and Squidward appearing in the episode. This episode shares the same title as the first episode of Miraculous: The Adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Only two original tracks was used due to the heavy usage of APM throughout, due to Marc Perlman being the music editor for this and its sister episode. After the American premiere of "Plankton's Old Chum" and "The Hankering," an image of this episode was used instead of those episodes. A clip from this episode was used for promoting new episodes in Nickelodeon Wallonia. However, the episode did not air.[5] This episode was initially set to premiere in Poland on June 4, 2019, but was pulled for unknown reasons. In the French dub, Vincent Waller is misspelled as "Vincent Wailer" during the opening credits. SpongeBob says, "Tut-tut, it looks like rain," which is a reference to the 1966 Walt Disney film, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. Also the same quote as the 1926 A.A. Milne book, Winnie the Pooh. SpongeBob says, "Where art thou, Drizzle?," which alludes to the quote, "Where art thou, Romeo?" from the late William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. When SpongeBob says, "SpongeBob knows just what a growing storm cloud needs," his white teeth turn yellow for a frame. The reef blower is called a leaf blower in this episode. When Gale Doppler goes to suck Drizzle out of the sky, he segues into an impromptu commercial break, presented by Incidental 104. However, she appears in the very next scene, running away in fear from Drizzle. In the closing credits for this episode, Rodger Bumpass is credited as playing Squidward. However, Squidward is neither seen nor heard in this episode.
