After a few tension filled months that included the annexation of Crimea and the removal of ex-Ukranian president Viktor F. Yanukovych, Ukraine’s troubles continued in past days with hundreds of pro-Russian protesters taking control of Ukrainian government buildings and raising Russian flags.
These days also brought about disputes over new inflated prices that Russia’s gas company, Gazprom, has set for Ukraine. In the past when Russia and Ukraine could not agree on gas prices, Russia has shut off the supply completely for Ukraine.
Last Thursday, Ukrainian authorities claimed that Yanukovych and Russian security agents helped plan February attacks on anti-government protesters, which killed over a 100 people. Yanukovych and the Russian security agency deny these claims.
