Of all the reality TV airing on networks around the globe Ultimate Survival Alaska on the National Geographic Channel is my favorite by far. Ultimate Survival Alaska is a gritty adventure reality TV series pitting some of the world’s toughest men and women against mother nature. Season 1 (2013) featured 8 mountain men from Alaska starting with an airplane insertion into the Arctic and ending 10 expeditions later in southeast Alaska. Season 2 (2014) upped the stakes adding more competitors and a “race to the flag” element where the winners of each leg of the expedition are awarded a special prize and the team with the most wins at the end is crowned “Ultimate Survivor”. Season 3 (2015) followed Season 2 format with racing, winners, losers and prizes given. All episodes are shot in Alaska.
I am putting together some themes from the show starting with my favorite mountain man Tyler Johnson. He's a true stud in the woods and one of the best.
