Star vs. The Forces of Evil was a US animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation and a pre-release on January 18, 2015 on the Disney Channel was launched, but officially premiered on March 30, 2015 on Disney XD. In Latin America, the series was premiered at Disney XD on August 22, 2015, followed by the official premiere on September 14. In Spain, the series premiered at Disney XD on October 24, 2015.
The first images of the show were released to the public at Mercury Filmworks 2014 Demo Reel, the program was created by Daron Nefcy (ex-student of CalArts and former revisionist of storyboards in Galaxy Wander and Robot and Monster), who is the second woman in creating an animated series for Disney Television Animation (the first would be Sue Rose, who created Pepper Ann) and, also, the first woman to create a series for Disney XD, Dave Wasson would work as director and Jordana Arkin as history editor of the series, while the two, at the same time, would produce co-executively the animated series.
On February 12, 2015, following the positive reaction of the audience at the premiere of the show on Disney Channel, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on July 11, 2016, also on March 4, 2016 the third season that was released on July 15, 2017 was confirmed.
The fourth season was confirmed on February 28, 2017, which premiered on March 10, 2019 and unlike the other three seasons, had simultaneous premieres on both Disney Channel and Disney XD.
