Auriel is the most loved of all angels. She is the leader of the choir of the High Heavens, in which she occupies a primordial place. He is said to be the happiest angel of the Angiris Council. She believes that the potential for good lies everywhere, even in the hearts of sentient beings.
Auriel is not a pacifist. He does not flee the battle, because he recognizes that the conflict is part of the nature of this broken universe. There are numerous accounts of his exploits in battle, the most famous of which tells how he crossed the walls of the Pandemonium Fortress with his fellow archangels to wrest control of the bulwark to Hell.
However, Auriel's most unique feature is his ability to perceive harmony even in the midst of discord. He believes that the victory of one side does not necessarily imply the defeat of the other. For her, after each conflict lies the promise of healing, just as after the dark night comes the dawn of a new day.
I have read that Auriel has mediated in more than one bitter conflict between Imperius and Tyrael. In these cases, he does not scold or push them into violence, but shows them that determination can lead to new opportunities. The fact that Auriel is able to calm beings like Imperius or Tyrael demonstrates that he has extraordinary benevolence and patience.
I have heard that, during discussions and debates, Auriel sometimes places Al'maiesh, the Rope of Hope, on the shoulders of his comrades to give them clarity of thought and emotion. Supposedly, the string is covered with shining runes from end to end, and has the power to heal and revitalize everyone who plays. In combat, Auriel uses the rope as a whip, crossing the enemy ranks with his virtuous fire.
Auriel, it seems, spends much of his time in the Gardens of Hope, a quiet bend in the High Heavens to which the angels come to meditate and clear the mind. The trees in the garden do not have leaves per se, but their glasses sway between rays of light and sound, while an invigorating choir resonates at all times. Everyone who listens to him feels his spirit align harmoniously with all the angels of Heaven.
