Teslas first car was the Roadster which successfully proved electric cars could be fast and fun. Now the next generation Tesla Roadster has been unveiled and the performance numbers are out of this world. Let’s start off with a 200 kWh battery pack, resulting in a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds, the standing 1/4 mile in 8.8 seconds and a top speed above 250 mph. Those are some very heady numbers, and Tesla claims to back it up with an all-electric range of 620 miles, making the new Roadster the first production electric car to surpass 1,000 kilometres on a single charge.
