The name "daisy" comes from the Old English word "day’s eye", because the petals open under the sun and close at night. Because of their popularity and the fact that daisies can be found on every continent except Antarctica, they are subjects in the mythology and folklore of many cultures worldwide. The daisy colour and spirituality include meanings such as new beginnings, hope, innocence, fertility, motherhood, fun, affection, fidelity and stardust. Also, the daisies symbolize purity, innocence, and childhood, and are often given during significant life changes.
