Akame ga Kill! is a Japanese manga written by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro, which has been published monthly in Square Enix's Gangan Joker since August 20, 2010. It is compiled in 15 volumes. An anime series was announced for its premiere on July 6, 2014 which was finalized on December 14, 2014 and its animation was produced by White Fox (Jormungand, Steins; Gate); The series was licensed for the United States and Latin America to be distributed and viewed via streaming through Crunchyroll and Netflix services.
Also a prequel to the manga titled Akame Ga Kill! Zero is currently published in Monthly Big Gangan magazine and features scripts by Takahiro and drawing by Kei Toru.Akame When she was a child, she was sold together with her sister. After being trained in the art of murder, she began working for the empire, until she became the perfect assassin, becoming one of the most wanted. She was persuaded by Najenda to leave the Imperial Army and join Night Raid.
